Description

Dr. Earl Smith and Dr. Angela Hattery, leading researchers on the topic of solitary confinement and race, along with Marvin Wade, a survivor of solitary confinement present a one-of-a-kind educational webinar. Digging deep into the unseen dynamics of racial bias in the jailhouse practice of solitary confinement, sociologists Smith and Hattery will share their extensive research in prisons across the Mid-Atlantic, illuminating the ways in which solitary confinement replicates enslavement  and redefines racism. Wade will provide insights based on his own experiences surviving solitary confinement.
